These Arts Education Performance Indicators (AEPI) document the status of arts education in each of the County's 82 school districts. As the first ongoing examination of arts education in Los Angeles County, this report provides a framework to evaluate self-reported school district data on critical success factors for arts education. It is a crucial component of the County's ability to measure and track district improvement over time.

AEPI ensures that the arts are one of the indicators by which school districts are measured.

Overall, the bit of research done on the art education in Los Angeles district schools is very well done. I was interested to find out about the art education in schools and see how it is , yet I read here that its much, much worse than I thought possible. As with the research found, there are various factors that may coincide with the answers that are sought such as with the critical factors of success that surround 2002-2003's art educational performances. As well, it is a very good way of stating the vision of stakeholders, the community, and the school all in one.
Additionally, reading about the current art conditions such as in the year 2002 prior to 2003 makes me very curious to know what events occurred at that time that all success indicators of art education were so much higher than in 2003. I wonder what happened so much that over the past three years the quality in art education declined so much. It would be interesting to know what events took place between 2002 and 2003 that impacted so much the quality of art education in Los Angeles county areas. Also, in all the schools polled in this research, why did some schools accept the factors of success and others simply declined to use them? Though, all in all, great job in informing us of the art education and quality of it in Los Angeles county area school districts. Who knew that art education in such a city as Los Angeles would decline so much in quality, where Hollywood: the home of art education is but a few hours away!
