We are pleased to present the second and expanded edition of the nation's most comprehensive guide to national and state facts on domestic hunger and poverty. We hope this guide, with its unique combination of original research from the America's Second Harvest Network along with current statistics from a multitude of government and private sources, will become the most powerful needed to understand the causes and consequences of hunger in our communities and in our country. Most importantly, we hope that the Almanac become a vital instrument in fostering the debate on how we can reduce and ultimately end hunger in America.
