Issue Areas: Health and Medicine

Intended Audience:

When a steamroller is coming down the road you have three choices: get out of the way, run to stay ahead of it, or lie down and get your clothes pressed. The steamroller is age -- old age -- and it will remake our society in the 21st century. This report engaged demographers, economists, public policy analysts, human service and medical professionals and citizens. Primary and secondary research efforts combined to develop a picture of what's to come, and our capacity to care for an aging population. The report itself is the tip of the iceberg: multiple project products (including scenarios for Arizona's future, team members' technical papers, an interdisciplinary reference guide and results of the project's public opinion research) are available at http://www.slhi.org/publications/studies_research/index.shtml.
