The third in a series of reports, Reaping the Benefits of Evaluation: Self-Assessment in the Service Field, is based on the experiences of the seven sites that participated in P/PV's Spectrum of Service initiative, a three-year demonstration that explored the ways in which programs combine the work of paid service providers and volunteers to address the educational needs of young people.

The report offers practical advice about self-assessment and is intended for use by practitioners who are beginning to think about how to measure their own progress. While the report focuses on the work of practitioners in the service and volunteer fields -- by providing illustrative examples from the Spectrum of Service sites -- the information provided is applicable to a broader audience of program providers.
