Part of the Volume on Digital Media, Youth, and Credibility
This chapter discusses children's cognitive development and how it impacts their ability to process information encountered online. Specifically, how children evaluate information in the digital world, and how contemporary media interactions are dynamically different than those with previous media are explored. One conclusion is that the Web constitutes a demanding information processing environment that must be considered when trying to understand credibility assessment among youth audiences.
