This is the sixth publication in a series of work-ing papers on Entrepreneurial SocialFinance (ESF) in Asia. We introduced the term ESF to capture the emergence of a growing number of financing models that focus on providing capital and non-financial support to social entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial social ventures. Within this ESF canopy are various practices that include venture philanthropy and impact investing, characterised by an invest-ment-minded approach that is focused on helping build a well-managed, resilient organisation rather than only supporting discrete projects. Venture philanthropists and impact investors actively work alongside an organisation's management team, providing technical advice and mentoring as well as finance.
