In 2000, TSNE MissionWorks began grantmaking as a social impact investment with a program called the Diversity Initiative. These grants supported more than 100 nonprofits in building more diverse and inclusive leadership and staff. When the Diversity Initiative wound down in 2011, they compiled the learning and impact from these programs in this publication.This guide presents a step-by-step approach – in seven phases – to achieving diversity and inclusiveness in the nonprofit workplace. Practical advices are offered for creating a better work environment through a more diverse and inclusive organization. Success for each organization requires adaptation of these guidelines to the unique challenges and goals derived within the context of mission and constituents.
